[Hammond] FAQ
ISAAC ASIMOV SUPPORTS SPOG
According to Hammond's SPOG, Creation took place when the
species
Homo Sapiens Sapiens came into existence 40,000 years ago... in
other words that the Bible is actually referring to the advent
of OUR SPECIES when it talks about the creation of the world,
and that in fact ADAM and EVE were the first two Homo Sapiens
Sapiens.
Some people are incredulous at this and point out that no
one
else believes this including the Creationists. Well, to refute
that argument, let me point out that ISAAC ASIMOV himself actually
guessed this correct answer 10 years before Hammond discovered
it in the SPOG.
The following is a quote from Asimov's 1987 book _Beginnings_:
"Although Bishop Ussher calculated that this
creation
took place in 4004 B.C., his calculations are not the word
of the Bible. The Bible itself does not give the time;
it
does not say how long each day of creation was, it does
not say how long the primeval years were or whether there
were any gaps in the record. If modern man came suddenly
into existence 40,000 years ago, as archeological
evidence seems to show, then might that not still fit the
Biblical account?"
Isaac Asimov, _Beginnings_, 1987, Ch 5, paragraph 5
As you can see, Asimov has GUESSED at the right answer here
10 years before Hammond discovered and proved it (SPOG).
He fully believes that the advent of H.s.s. could be the
scientific explanation of the Biblical Creation.
Hammond and Asimov are in full agreement on this point.
